Winter Trends 2019/20
Two major trends are emerging in the French mountains:
The first skiing and glide activities, and outdoor activities: skiing is the reason for mountain winter holidays: landscapes, state-of-the-art ski lifts, skiing in France is always acclaimed for its vast and varied ski areas. But many original activities are also offered: 100% electric snow scooter rides on the snow-covered paths, the 4-season toboggan run: the opening of the X-Trem Luge in La Rosière. A new toboggan run with conveyor belts is proposed in Villard-de-Lans. Ski touring is always very popular: opening of new secured routes in Orcières, Valmorel, and Lioran.
The second strong trend is returning to the sources: Wonder, magnificent panoramas, recipes of yesterday’s put back on the agenda, discovery of the history and cultural patrimonial of old and recent villages. This includes personal development, introspection, and well-being, yoga, conscious walking, sustainable accommodation, rebalancing in the mountains, events to breathe and reconnect with oneself.
Le Printemps du ski – Skiing into Spring
Launched by France Montagnes, “Le Printemps du Ski” will be set up on March 20th in French resorts. The idea is to develop the life of the resorts at this period which presents many assets: good quality of snow, longer days and milder temperatures, availability in the accommodation and fewer people on the tracks, animations in the resorts for all ages.
For the winter of 2020, the partners / founding members of France Montagnes have agreed on the concept of a unique offer, based on sponsorship “A paid skier (adult or child) will give free access to a beginner adult “! This offer covers the following services: ski lift package, group lessons by the French Ski School, and ski equipment rental, for stays of 3 to 6 days.
A child will be able to invite a parent or another adult to learn skiing at the same time as him.
Skiers will be able to invite their friends or families (adults) non-skiers, provided they buy the same services.
